Responsibilities
Design and deploy AI software components including foundation model training, inference, and similarity search
Partner with cross-functional teams of research scientists and product managers to deliver AI-powered products
Implement state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve system scalability, cost, and latency
Utilize a technical stack including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and PyTorch
Contribute to the long-term technical vision and roadmap of foundational AI systems at Capital One
Qualification
Required
Professional experience designing and supporting AI software components in a production environment
Technical proficiency with foundation model training, guardrails, and model evaluation
Ability to translate scientific publications into applied techniques for large-scale AI systems
Experience with open source and SaaS AI technologies such as Nemo Guardrails and PyTorch
Strong commitment to building reliable, high-quality systems that prioritize responsible AI practices
