LPS - Mechanical Design Engineer II
FORTNA partners with leading brands to transform omnichannel and parcel distribution operations. As a Mechanical Designer, you will support the design and implementation of material handling systems, performing both independent and collaborative design assignments.

Responsibilities
Create mechanical design drawings and layouts for conveyor and automation systems using AutoCAD, Inventor, and FORTNA’s proprietary 3D design tools
Create fabrication, integration, installation, and permit drawings
Participate in design reviews, assist with drawing QA/QC processes, and help prepare engineering documentation
Conduct site visits to gather field dimensions and validate system requirements
Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases
Communicate progress to engineering leads and document project updates and challenges
Follow engineering standards and contribute ideas for improvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; OR an associate's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, or a related field; OR a minimum of 2 years of directly relevant industry experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar 3D design tool); experience with MS Office tools (Word, Excel)
Familiarity with material handling systems and conveyor equipment
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and organizational skills
Willingness to travel (10–20%) for project support
