Governmental Audit Manager

Responsibilities
Execute governmental audit engagements with precision and technical expertise
Oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and quality
Manage audit timelines and budgets, preparing engagements for Partner review
Lead and manage audit teams of 2–4 professionals
Travel to client sites across Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina (approximately 25%)
Communicate audit results and findings to those charged with governance
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal team members
Mentor and develop interns and staff through coaching, training, and feedback
Provide timely formal and informal performance feedback across all levels
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (B.A. or B.S.)
CPA license required
Public accounting experience with governmental clients
Hands-on experience with full governmental financial statement audits, not just single audits
Proven ability to prepare governmental financial statements
Strong understanding of GAAS, GASB, and GAAP
Ability to manage multiple engagements throughout the year
Strong communication skills and professional presence
Willingness and ability to travel as needed (offices in GA, NC, and SC)
