Responsibilities
Conduct field work activities in support of ongoing agricultural research projects
Operate tractors and other farm equipment safely and efficiently
Apply pesticides according to established protocols and safety guidelines
Provide cultural care for various crops
Assist in the coordination and execution of research experiments and trials
Maintain accurate records of field activities, observations, and data collection
Collaborate with research scientists and other team members to achieve project objectives
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work
NC Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 6 mos
NC Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 60 days
NC Forklift Driver Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months
Medical Respirator Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months
Preferred
Experience in agriculture production and/or agricultural research
Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
Ability to operate farm machinery
Ability to communicate in both oral and written form. Ability to read and follow pesticide labels and research protocols
Ability to collect and record data accurately
