The content lead will manage the creation of editorial content, ensuring quality and timely deliverables while collaborating closely with freelance writers and editors.

Responsibilities

Communicates guidelines and updates to writers and editors

Reviews content for accuracy and quality, providing editorial feedback as needed

Communicates with Project Manager and Editorial Director to ensure the project meets client expectations and project deadlines

Attends both internal meetings and client meetings, providing updates, answering content questions, and troubleshooting challenges to assure project success

The content lead should be available to work remotely during business hours at least 20 hours per week from January through March

Required

At least 5 years of experience in grades K–12 educational publishing—writing, editing, and producing content for standards-aligned ELD/ELL materials

Excellent writing, editing, organization, and communication skills; able to disseminate guidelines, provide productive feedback, guide teams of writers and editors, manage content quality and schedule, and communicate with team members and client

Comfortable in a client-facing role; able to serve as point-of-contact between client and editorial team members

Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite; experience with content management systems is preferred

Experience teaching ELA or ELL/ELD is a plus, but MUST be accompanied by experience working for an educational publisher or edtech company, a solid understanding of publishing workflows, and some experience managing editorial teams
