Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and compliance with industry standards
Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and stay updated on industry trends and pricing fluctuations
Develop and execute procurement strategies to optimize costs and ensure long-term availability of critical materials
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract terms with suppliers to secure favorable agreements
Review and approve contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, including regular performance reviews and addressing issues promptly
Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, including quality, delivery timeframes, and cost
Oversee the entire procurement process from requisition generation to purchase order issuance and delivery
Manage purchase orders, expediting critical items, and resolving any procurement issues
Analyze inventory levels and demand patterns to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs
Implement inventory management strategies to prevent stockouts and overstocking
Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and ethical procurement practices
Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with supplier selection and procurement activities
Work closely with project teams, engineering departments, and operations to understand material requirements and project timelines
Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding procurement status, potential challenges, and cost implications
Qualification
Required
Degree in Supply Chain Management, or a related field or 10 + years working experience supply chain
Proven experience in procurement within the oil and gas industry
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
