Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and deliver programs and events from concept to completion
Manage logistics, communications, materials, budgets, and participant coordination
Collaborate with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners
Support marketing and public outreach
Maintain records and reports
Provide friendly, solution-focused assistance to the public
Represent the department at meetings
Support web or exhibit updates
Attend off-site events to help bring community experiences to life

Required

Associate's Degree
Two (2) years of experience in a related field to the area of assignment
Must maintain a valid driver's license
Depending on the area of assignment, may be required to obtain and maintain Notary Public certification
Depending on position assignment… if assigned to work within the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office/Justice Center/Jail additional background checks will be required: Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS)
FALCON Integrated Criminal History System
Knowledge of departmental and governmental policies, plans, and procedures
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other job-related software applications
Ability to operate standard office equipment
Knowledge of program administration and/or event planning
Knowledge of public relations practices
Knowledge of desktop publishing as applicable
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prepare accurate correspondence, reports, publications, press releases, and procedural manuals
Ability to provide excellent internal and external customer service
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and organize work
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Maintain accurate records and tracking systems
Interpret and apply federal, state, county, and grant-related policies
Exercise sound judgment and discretion
Problem-solving skills
Ability to coordinate county and community resources
Interact effectively with the public
Establish and maintain positive working relationships
Use computers for data entry, word processing, and basic accounting functions
A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle
