Responsibilities
Set and own the organization’s overall credit risk framework, ensuring alignment with enterprise risk appetite and strategic objectives
Provide executive-level leadership on credit policy, risk limits, underwriting standards, and portfolio oversight across member and counterparty exposures
Serve as primary credit risk advisor to senior leadership, committees, and the Board, translating complex risk topics into actionable insights
Chair the Credit Committee and act as a voting member of asset-liability and enterprise risk committees
Oversee credit risk related to both lending and investment activities, including structured products and mortgage-backed securities
Lead credit risk assessment for new products, programs, collateral types, and risk-taking initiatives
Maintain forward-looking credit risk analytics, forecasting, and stress testing to identify emerging risks and market trends
Provide second-line oversight of collateral management, including eligibility, valuation, and legal enforceability
Act as a key point of contact with regulators, ensuring compliance with applicable supervisory expectations and regulatory frameworks
Build, mentor, and lead a senior credit risk team, fostering a strong risk culture and high-performance environment
Qualification
Required
Experience in leading enterprise-wide credit risk strategy at a senior executive level
Strong understanding of credit risk governance frameworks
Ability to set credit standards and oversee complex exposures
Experience engaging with regulators and ensuring compliance with supervisory expectations
Proven track record of providing executive-level leadership on credit policy and risk limits
Experience in underwriting standards and portfolio oversight
Ability to translate complex risk topics into actionable insights for senior leadership and the Board
Experience chairing committees and acting as a voting member of risk committees
Knowledge of credit risk related to lending and investment activities, including structured products and mortgage-backed securities
Experience in leading credit risk assessments for new products and risk-taking initiatives
Ability to maintain forward-looking credit risk analytics, forecasting, and stress testing
Experience in collateral management, including eligibility, valuation, and legal enforceability
Strong leadership skills to build, mentor, and lead a senior credit risk team
Ability to foster a strong risk culture and high-performance environment
