Responsibilities

Design and conduct their own independent research project(s)
Collaborate with other researchers within and outside Boehringer Ingelheim
Effectively communicate and defend their own work in the context of team and department goals, both orally and in writing
Establish an international reputation in your area of expertise with publications and conference participation at national and international events
Apply quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling, to integrate in vitro and in vivo nonclinical and clinical data for predicting pharmacodynamics of new therapeutic modalities in the field of inflammation, oncology, cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases, CNS, retinopathies and emerging areas
Identify the dynamic interactions between a drug and pathophysiology to understand the system at the cellular and biochemical network levels, and to connect the pharmacokinetics with drug efficacy and safety after drug administration in the clinical setting
Communicate and present findings
Utilize appropriate data analysis techniques and visualization tools
Contribute to informed decision-making and strategy for clinical drug development
Interpret and communicate results to an interdisciplinary audience and experts in the field

Required

Ph.D. degree in related discipline with no more than three (3) years of Post Doctoral experience
Extensive experience in area of scientific expertise in QSP modeling platforms (e.g., R, Matlab, Julia)
In-depth knowledge of pharmacokinetic processes and the impact of physiological parameters
Basic knowledge of drug development, ADME, systems biology/physiology and pathophysiology
Creativity and innovation in driving cutting-edge research with a strong publication record
Ability to independently conduct a research project and effectively communicate the results
Strong teamwork skills with independent working style, high level of initiative, reliability and readiness to take on responsibility
Ability to optimize and develop assays/techniques, as well as leverage new technology opportunities to address scientific questions
Exceptional writing, presentation, and communication skills
Ability to comply with all applicable regulators, performing all work in a safe manner; maintain proper records in accordance with SOP's and policies
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
