Senior Financial Analyst - Emergency Department

Responsibilities
Preparation and processing of all month end closing entries for Accounts Receivable and Patient Revenue: FFS, Capitated, Value Based
On a monthly basis, prepares the following detailed schedules from database sources in order to generate A/R, Allowances, Fee for Service, and Managed Care revenues by practice for financial reporting: Components of net revenue on a monthly and year to date basis Items affecting the change in net accounts receivable from the previous month Charges, payments, adjustments and gross account receivable combining patient accounting systems and tracking accruals A reconciliation of the net accounts receivable per the general ledger to a global valuation of the aged accounts receivable for the entity
Analyzes trends & investigates variances to budget
Participates in the development of the revenue budgets by compiling prior year data and prepping initial file templates for practice staff to complete before being uploaded into Hyperion
Partners with DOOs and practice managers of selected Regions to build Revenue budgets from visit volume projections
Participates in building the Practice Operating Budget each year by working with practice management and Assoc. Dir of Financial Planning & Analysis to build detailed practice expense budgets from the bottom up
Manages our relationship with our partner Vizient who provides our RVU data each month: Ensure they provide the data timely, Ensure the values are accurate, Manage the workflow to account for and report on these values, and Communicate relevant RVU value changes to the team to coordinate reporting and accounting changes necessary
Oversees the calculation and reporting of the Visit and RVU statistics that we share with our practices
Works closely with personnel within the corporate department, practices, and across the entity to resolve issues efficiently
Performs special analysis and projects assigned by the senior finance staff as requested
Participates in the year-end closing/audit process by reconciling accounts and providing auditors with necessary schedules
Where applicable, mentor financial analysts and other staff
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Arts or Science (required) Education Specialization: Finance, Accounting or Information Technology
4+ years experience in a Finance department, with progressive accounting and budgeting experience, for a Healthcare System. (required)
1+ years Experience using Hyperion Essbase / Planning / Reports & EPIC (required)
Preferred
1+ years Experience using Finance/Accounting systems. Lawson Financials (preferred)
