Responsibilities
Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business
Ensures compliance with department’s policies and procedures
Enters customer data in computer to initiate or disconnect water services for billing purposes
Resolves customer inquiries, problems or complaints about bills or services
Initiates requests for account adjustments
Processes water and sewer taps
Processes hydrant meter tap rentals to contractors
Assists in processing mail for posting of payments to customer's accounts
Ensures transactions comply with department policies and procedures
Ensures compliance with identity theft and red flags policies and procedures
Maintains a filing system for all documents related to special tasks
Ensures business customer's tax-exempt forms are updated
Serves as back-up to receptionist; receives and/or routes telephone inquiries for customer service
Serves as back-up to cashiers, including balancing cash drawer
Performs other work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent
Must have experience as a customer service representative, administrative assistant, or closely related
Must have basic math and computer skills
Ability to use a desktop calculator/adding machine
