Purpose Brands, the parent company of several fitness brands, is seeking a Data Engineer to join its team. The role involves implementing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines, transforming raw data into usable datasets, and collaborating with analysts and data scientists to ensure data availability for analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

Implement and maintain highly available and stable data ingestion pipelines using industry standard ETL best practices

Responsible for transforming and optimizing raw data sets into modeled datasets tailored to business needs

Collaborate with BI Analysts and Data Scientists to ensure that data is available for analysis and reporting

Adhere to Data Engineering best practices, including data security and privacy protocols

Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines

Participate in code reviews and testing to ensure that output of the team is accurate, scalable and maintainable

Quickly identify weakness, data integrity lapses and bugs in our data ingestion pipelines and remedy them

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, Information Technology, or a related field of study

One (1) year of experience in the job offered or any related occupation in which the required experience was gained

Working with a cloud-based data engineering tool stack, such as those offered by AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Writing highly optimized and efficient SQL

Working in a cloud-based data warehouse

Building data models for analytical use cases

Working in big data environments and processing large volumes of data

Working with DAG orchestration tools such as Airflow, Astronomer or Dagster

Implementing DBT procedures

Using a high-level programming language (Python or Java)
