Responsibilities

Develop 3D models and drawings for heavy civil projects based on construction plans, sketches, and notes to support engineering, visualization, and submittals
Assist in planning and coordination by building accurate models, identifying potential conflicts, and suggesting solutions
Perform means and methods analysis, quantity takeoffs, and clash detection using VDC tools
Provide georeferenced models, topographic data, and cut/fill analysis for site development
Create visuals for proposals, including renderings, animations, and 4D model simulations
Work with advanced technology, such as point clouds from LIDAR and drone surveys, to enhance design and construction workflows
Collaborate with project teams to integrate models into construction operations, ensuring deliverables meet field requirements and project goals
Contribute to the development of tools, standards, and resources that drive efficiency and innovation across the VDC team
Stay current with industry tools and technologies, continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and outcomes
Travel to job sites or meetings as needed to support project teams and maintain alignment on goals and deliverables

Required

Degree in Engineering, Construction, or Design required
Experience in CAD/BIM/VDC software required
Proficiency in CAD/BIM/VDC software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Civil 3D
Strong understanding of 2D and 3D workflows, with the ability to interpret and translate contract drawings into actionable models
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address construction challenges
Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively to field teams
Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow, with opportunities for training and professional development provided
Knowledge of construction workflows, materials, means, and methods
Ability to travel to job sites or meetings as needed to support project teams and maintain alignment on goals and deliverables
Ability to sit or stand for entire shift
Occasionally required to stoop, bend, walk, crouch, and climb
Ability to lift, on a frequent basis, at least 50 pounds
Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to speak, write, and understand English clearly

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction, or Design preferred
Experience with advanced tools (e.g., Dynamo, scripting) is a plus
Familiarity with advanced tools like Dynamo or scripting is a plus
