The State of Florida's Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Resident Park Manager II to oversee park operations at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park. The role involves supervising staff, managing resources, enforcing regulations, and ensuring quality visitor services.

Responsibilities
Supervises the park staff and participates in the management of the area’s resources, facilities, and public use under existing rules and operating policies to provide the proper levels of administration, resource management, visitor services, protection, and maintenance
Implements and enforces all laws, rules, operating policies, leases, contracts, agreements, and permits pertaining to this area
Provides for employee selection, training, supervision, and discipline
Administers the terms of the collective bargaining agreement and maintains good employee relations
Prepares budget requests, provides for effective expenditure of appropriations, supervises the collection of fees, is responsible for all facility and equipment inventories, and implements established policies for fiscal control and accountability
Prepares, implements, and controls the work scheduling and assignments for the staff
Implements and guides the cultural and resource management plan for the area including ecological burning, water manipulation, native species propagation, erosion control, and exotic plant and animal removal, and adherence to best management practices of all known cultural and/or historic sites and structures
Provides for resource-based quality recreational opportunities
Implements and supervises the area’s interpretive programs
Meets the public, interprets the area’s resources, facilities, and services; resolves visitor complaints; and provides for good public relations
Coordinates and manages a park Citizens Support Organization and volunteers in support of the park
Plans, implements, and controls the area’s maintenance program
Identifies maintenance needs and provides supervision and management of the staff to maintain the facilities and support equipment for efficient area operation
Prepares and implements the Park Protection Plan in accordance with Operations Policy Manual
Ensures park rules are enforces pertaining to all natural, historical, and archaeological facilities and resources, and use thereof, for the enjoyment of the visitor
Performs Other Related Duties As Required
Qualification
Required
Valid Driver's License
Reside on Park property
Work rotating shifts including, nights, weekends, and holidays
Knowledge Of Advanced management principles, practices and techniques
Knowledge Of Building maintenance and construction
Knowledge Of Mathematical calculations
Knowledge Of Park Service management and operations principles
Knowledge Of Natural resource management practices to include prescribed fire and appropriate methods for control of invasive plants and animals
Knowledge Of Florida Park Service Operations Manual
Knowledge Of ADA requirements for public facilities
Knowledge Of Routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance necessary to meet FPS standards
Knowledge Of Quality visitor service and customer relations
Skill In Computer operation and applications
Ability To Supervise people; conduct routine inspections
Ability To Identify and investigate problems
Ability To Assess budgetary needs and manage budgets
Ability To Formulate or assist in the formulation of policies and procedures
Ability To Determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments
Ability To Prepare and maintain schedules and reports
Ability To Conduct inspections of park facilities, equipment and grounds
Ability To Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability To Plan for utilization and preservation of facilities and resources
Ability To Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability To Coordinate and manage a park CSO and volunteers in support of the park
Ability To Work with media groups and the public in a tactful and professional manner
Ability To Prepare budget requests
Ability To Provide for effective expenditures and tracking of appropriations
