Ursa Major is revolutionizing aerospace and defense propulsion systems. The Machinist II will operate CNC equipment to machine critical aerospace components while supporting the development of high-performance propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC equipment to machine critical, tight-tolerance aerospace components, including 3 and 5 axis mills, mill-turning machines, and live tooling equipped lathes

Program using Hypermill CAM software to produce prototype, R&D, and one-off parts

Take on cradle to grave machining projects to support high pace output of development hardware, reworks, and part modifications

Assistance with all shop related operations including tool & workholding creation & procurement, equipment cleaning & maintenance, etc

Required

4+ years experience in a machining environment

Experience operating CNC equipment (lathe or mill)

Demonstrated critical thinker

Experience handling parts from programming through completed machined part

US CITIZENSHIP, PERMANENT RESIDENCY, REFUGEE OR ASYLUM STATUS IS REQUIRED

Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance

Preferred

Experience with multi-axis & mill-turn machines and programming is a plus

Experience in an aerospace machining environment

Experience with modern multi-axis CAM packages is a plus

Knowledge of modern high speed machining strategies and tooling

Experience with Titanium and high-Nickel aerospace alloys is a plus
