Responsibilities
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence
Provide architectural and technical guidance to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability of the OMS
Oversee the development lifecycle, ensuring efficient planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering projects
Work closely with Product, Design, and Operations teams to align technical initiatives with business objectives
Enhance engineering processes, streamline workflows, and implement best practices to drive operational efficiency
Ensure high code quality and adherence to software development best practices through design reviews and technical mentorship
Contribute to the engineering strategy and roadmap, aligning it with Stord’s broader business goals
Qualification
Required
Proven experience (5+ years) in software engineering, with 2+ years in an engineering leadership role
Strong background in development, preferably in Elixir/Phoenix or other functional programming languages
Experience working on large-scale distributed systems or complex enterprise applications
Ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of software development best practices, system architecture, and DevOps principles
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and other teams
You will be required to clearly articulate complex technical ideas and plans with people of diverse backgrounds
Preferred
Previous experience as an Engineering Manager at multiple companies
Previous startup experience
Experience in logistics or supply chain technology
Hands-on experience with OMS platforms or Consumer Experience (CX) platforms or e-commerce platforms
