The role involves performing structural analyses of bridges, assisting with design calculations, and conducting field inspections to ensure the integrity of highway structures.

Responsibilities
Structural analyses of bridges
Assist with the preparation of design calculations and details
Assist in the preparation of contract plans and specifications
Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates
Assist in the review of construction submittals
Perform occasional field inspections of existing structures
Perform occasional field visits to resolve construction issues
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of basic structural engineering principals and techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be focused on providing quality work
Working knowledge of relevant structural concepts of bridges and other highway structures
Experienced in common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel), experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred
A Valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
0 – 3 years of progressive experience in the field
Must physically be able to perform field inspection work, e.g., carry/climb ladders, wade in streams, work around traffic, work at heights, etc
This job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer
This job requires the ability to lift up to 25lbs
Preferred
Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred
