Senior Technical Operations Consultant

Responsibilities

Collaborates with clients and business stakeholders to gather and analyze warehouse management requirements
Establish priorities for the client so they can prepare for and manage changes in their strategy and operations
Conducts detailed assessments of existing supply chain processes and workflows, with a focus on SAP WM and EWM environments, to determine the scope of warehouse operational improvement initiatives
Develops comprehensive process maps that outline each step of current operations
Identifies bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for potential improvement and creates recommendations and actionable strategies for improvement
Collaborates with supply chain staff and management to understand specific operational challenges and requirements
Prepares and executes client workshops (with stakeholders on various seniority levels)
Develops clear, concise, and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all supply chain operations, particularly within SAP WM and EWM frameworks
Ensures SOPs are aligned with best practices and industry standards
Works closely with stakeholders to ensure SOPs are practical, achievable, error proof, and enhance overall efficiency
Works with the Junior Operations Consultants to create training materials and guides to facilitate the implementation of new SOPs
Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly in SAP WM and EWM
Proposes and implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain operations
Tracks performance metrics and results to ensure success and conducts regular reviews and audits, ensuring compliance with SOPs, identifying opportunities for further improvement, and adjusting the strategy and escalating concerns as appropriate
Travels to client sites up to 50% of the time to collaborate in person, evaluate operations, and review SOPs and practices in action
Manages and holds accountable a team of Junior Operations Consultants, providing support, encouragement, coaching, and performance management to ensure success for the team and for the organization
Participates in the hiring process for positions within scope
Fosters a high-performance culture, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and professional development
Adheres to all certified processes as part of our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and information security, which includes actively participating in quality assurance activities and ensuring the protection of sensitive information in accordance with our security policies
Performs other related tasks as assigned

Required

bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or high school diploma with equivalent years of experience
experience in Lean Six Sigma, Lean, or other process methodologies
Minimum of 8 years of experience creating and implementing SOPs to standardize and improve warehouse operations
Minimum of 8 years of experience analyzing warehouse processes and developing actionable solutions
Minimum of 8 years of experience mapping current and future state processes to drive operational improvements
Minimum of 8 years of experience with SAP Warehouse Management and Extended Warehouse Management systems
Must have an active government security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to start date (which requires U.S. Citizenship)

Preferred

certification in Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies
previous consulting experience in a similar role
previous professional experience includes SAP use (any module)
previous experience working with U.S. Government agencies (Defense Logistics Agency preferred)
