Responsibilities
Provides technical assistance to physician for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
Applies principles of aseptic techniques to maintain a clean field for endoscopy services
Under the direct supervision of an RN, provide post-procedure care for patients undergoing endoscopy and conscious sedation
Effectively manages resources such as supplies and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Technical Degree or Diploma Nursing Assistant required
No prior work experience
Possess basic endoscopy preparation skills and the ability to perform the role of endoscopy tech for invasive procedures
Knowledge and practice of basic patient care concepts and application of the principles of asepsis
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations as would be acquired through completion of high school
Ability to take emergency on-call responsibility on 24 hour rotating basis
Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records
Ability to communicate verbally with Associates, physicians and other outside professionals
Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgement
Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of workflow
