Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day People & Culture operations across multiple sites, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures, and employment practices
Coach and mentor People & Culture Generalists and Assistants, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, documentation, and compliance
Serve as the escalation point for mid-level employee relations matters, including performance concerns, interpersonal conflicts, attendance issues, and policy violations
Partner with site and functional leadership to address workforce challenges, ensuring timely, fair, and well-documented resolutions
Reinforce manager accountability by coaching leaders on handling first-line employee issues and appropriate escalation
Lead and coordinate recruitment efforts across locations, including oversight of full-cycle recruiting activities, interviewing practices, and onboarding execution
Partner with the Director on workforce planning, headcount changes, and talent acquisition strategies aligned with operational needs
Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of staffing, hiring, and turnover metrics
Lead employee relations efforts, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and terminations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple locations and EINs
Oversee development, maintenance, and execution of the company’s Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), including coordination with external vendors as applicable
Manage and submit required compliance reporting, including EEO-1 filings, ensuring data accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Monitor adherence to company policies and procedures, supporting Generalists with interpretation and consistent application
Oversee HR documentation practices and personnel recordkeeping across all sites
Help identify training needs and coordinate leadership and employee development programs
Support coaching, succession planning, and professional growth initiatives
Partner with Training & Development and site leadership to implement required compliance training
Support leadership development, onboarding programs, and manager training efforts through coordination and execution
Promote a positive, consistent workplace culture aligned with organizational values and business objectives
Partner with the Director to support engagement initiatives, survey execution, and follow-up actions
Help maintain clear and consistent employee communications across locations
Provide regular HR metrics and analysis to leadership, including workforce trends, turnover, engagement data, and compliance reporting
Use data insights to identify risks, improvement opportunities, and operational needs
Support the Director in people strategy planning through accurate reporting and operational insights

Required

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered
5–7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including direct supervision or mentoring of HR staff
Strong employee relations experience in a multi-site environment
Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and required government reporting (including EEO-1)
Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to balance operational execution with continuous process improvement in a fast-paced environment
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and leading through change

Preferred

Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
Experience supporting or administering Affirmative Action Plans strongly preferred
Manufacturing, industrial, or multi-state environment experience preferred
