Financial Analyst- Senior (Healthcare/Insurance)

They are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team, focusing on complex financial functions related to health insurance products.

Responsibilities
Performs the more complex financial functions related to the health insurance products maintained by the Health System including claims reserves, forecasting by product line, external reporting, and special projects
Oversees Health Insurance statutory reporting and tax return preparation with assistance from outside vendors
Statutory financial reporting
Accounting close entries and reconciliations
Updating actuarial lag schedules, data gather and analysis for various payments and claims
Effectively manage close, quarterly/annual reporting, budgeting/forecasting
Qualification
Required
Requires extensive knowledge of accounting and financial analysis principles, theories, and techniques of accounting acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, Finance or Accounting
Five years of progressively responsible work experience with a minimum of three years direct financial analyst experience
Analytical ability to find solutions to financial accounting and data problems
Preferred
Accounting degree with CPA preferred
Health care experience preferred
Insurance experience preferred
