Amazon is seeking a Lab Engineer for its Avionics Development team within Amazon Leo, a low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. The role focuses on the design, management, and operation of avionics lab equipment to support satellite hardware development efforts.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with building designers, architects, and construction firms to design new (or retrofit existing) lab facilities
Collaborate with different satellite hardware development teams to collect facility and equipment requirements
Operate, maintain, and upgrade complex equipment systems that develop, qualify, and validate satellite hardware prototypes
Create standard operating procedures, draft narratives to decision makers, and create operational reports tracking key-performance-indicators
Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and vendors that contribute to the hardware development life cycle

Required

2+ years of hardware development, test lab, space/aerospace maintenance or hands-on engineering environment experience
Knowledge of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures
Experience developing operational processes and technologies
Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering
Experience with design & innovation and research & development

Preferred

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization
Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
Experience in creating process improvement procedures
