Responsibilities

Lead engineering strategy and execution across SMR/advanced reactor programs
Manage and mentor senior and mid-level engineers across multiple disciplines (mechanical, systems, thermal-hydraulics, reactor physics)
Collaborate with licensing, R&D, and operations teams to align technical strategy with regulatory and commercial objectives
Oversee design, analysis, and validation of reactor systems
Drive technical innovation while ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence
Participate in strategic decision-making with executive leadership and key stakeholders

Required

Bachelor's degree in Nuclear, Mechanical, Systems, or related Engineering field; Master's or PhD strongly preferred
10+ years of experience in SMR/advanced reactors, nuclear fuel, aerospace, aviation, defense, or other high-reliability engineering industries
Proven experience with SMR, LWR, or advanced reactor programs
Demonstrated success managing multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, systems, thermal-hydraulics, reactor physics)
Deep understanding of nuclear safety, regulatory requirements, and compliance frameworks (NRC, DOE, or equivalent)
Track record of delivering complex nuclear projects from concept through design, testing, or deployment
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with experience making high-impact technical decisions
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills — capable of influencing executive teams, regulators, and project partners

Preferred

Experience in commercialization or deployment of SMR or advanced nuclear technologies
Experience scaling engineering organizations in high-growth programs
Exposure to licensing strategy or direct engagement with regulators (NRC, DOE, or international equivalents)
Knowledge of project financing, scheduling, and risk management in nuclear energy projects
Active participation in industry organizations (e.g., ANS, INPO) or advisory boards
Experience interacting with DOE, NRC, or international regulatory bodies
Experience scaling engineering teams in fast-growing nuclear programs
Exposure to commercialization or deployment of nuclear projects
