Responsibilities
Triage server issues with guidance from Dell Support
Execute Plans of Action (POA) provided by Dell Domain Engineers (L3)
Perform server hardware repairs and replacements:
Reseating, swapping, and replacing components
CPUs, memory, power supplies, GPUs, and full server replacements
Conduct server testing and validation:
Run diagnostics
Capture and upload logs
Perform firmware upgrades as required
Maintain detailed service documentation:
Service reports, logs, part numbers, PPIDs (old/new)
Manage parts lockers and spare parts inventory
Handle inbound/outbound parts and returns to Dell
Support server swaps and deployments, including CW server deployments
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED
Heavy lifting required
Must have hands-on experience with server wiring and hardware
Candidate must live locally (within 15–45 minutes of the site)
4–6 years of relevant experience in server hardware support
Familiarity with Linux environments
Experience building PCs
Strong hands-on server hardware experience
Experience with server builds, swaps, and deployments
Ability to follow detailed technical POAs
Physically capable of handling demanding hardware tasks
Actively keeps skills current with evolving technologies
Provides real-time, accurate, and detailed documentation
Strong attention to detail in service reporting
Clear, proactive, and professional communicator
Team-oriented with a positive attitude
Articulate and able to provide detailed explanations without excessive prompting
Demonstrates accountability and initiative
Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Effectively prioritizes tasks based on urgency and customer impact
Preferred
Technical certification or Associate Degree
Experience with water-cooled servers
