Responsibilities
Site Design & Planning: Coordinate with architects and educational planners to design site layouts, grading plans, vehicular access, parking, and athletic fields
Assessments: Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new and existing educational facilities
Compliance: Ensure all designs meet local building codes, ADA standards, and specific educational facility regulations
Documentation: Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, technical specifications, and accurate cost estimates
Sustainability: Integrate sustainable design principles, including advanced stormwater management and green infrastructure
Construction Support: Provide construction administration, responding to RFIs and resolving field issues during the school construction phase
Technical Execution: Utilize CAD and BIM tools to produce and revise high-level engineering documentation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a specific focus on educational or institutional projects
High proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to interface effectively with public sector clients and multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to travel to various project sites across the Lexington/Kentucky area as needed (travel costs are covered)
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or a Master's degree is strongly preferred
