They are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Associate to support client implementation projects and gain hands-on expertise in their software, with a clear path to advancement into a Business Development Manager role.

Responsibilities

Participate in and support special client implementation projects from planning through go-live, learning NEXGEN’s software architecture, configuration, and best practices in depth
Assist in gathering requirements, configuring solutions, troubleshooting, and ensuring successful deployments for key accounts
Conduct technical analysis, testing, and documentation to support implementation success
Shadow and collaborate on business development activities, including market research, opportunity identification, proposal support, and client relationship building
Learn sales processes, win strategies, and client-facing communication with executive guidance
Contribute to internal process improvements, software feedback loops, and growth initiatives
Take ownership of assigned tasks with a high degree of independence as skills develop

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business with a technical focus, or a related field (recent graduates strongly encouraged to apply)
0-3 years of professional experience; internships, co-ops, or technical projects count
Strong technical aptitude and eagerness to learn complex enterprise software systems
High motivation, initiative, and a proactive mindset — you thrive in fast-paced environments and seek out challenges
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and comfort working directly with executive leadership
Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts and translate them into business value
Must be able to work in-person full-time in our Sacramento office

Preferred

Experience or interest in SaaS, asset management, utilities, public works, or related industries is a plus
