Senior Director of Membership Growth & Engagement

WeCOACH is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to supporting women coaches in all sports and levels. The Senior Director of Membership Growth & Engagement will develop and implement strategies to grow memberships, enhance member engagement, and drive revenue through personalized outreach and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead proactive outreach, cultivation, and conversion strategies to grow WeCOACH membership across all levels and segments, including: individual coaches, schools/ institutions, districts/ conferences, and sport/ coaches associations
Own annual membership dues revenue targets by developing and executing a data‑driven sales plan that consistently meets or exceeds goals
Build and manage a robust membership pipeline through relationship‑building, prospecting, presentations, and follow‑up with key decision‑makers
Partner with Digital Media Team to craft compelling value propositions, campaigns, and materials that drive membership acquisition and retention
Track performance metrics, analyze trends, and report on membership sales progress to inform strategy and optimize results
Assist CEO with membership revenue projections annually
Lead all member engagement and outreach efforts. Develop and execute a plan for member outreach to elevate year-round member engagement across all programs and events and maximize return on investment. Plan will include member retention strategies
Dedicate time regularly to personalized member outreach and responding to member inquiries
Create strategies that incentivize members to register for and participate in programs & events, including group member engagement
Oversee membership communications (e-blasts to group primary contacts, membership surveys, information for newsletters, etc.)
Empower all WeCOACH staff and Board of Directors to build and maintain meaningful relationships with our membership and key stakeholders within our Community to enhance member experience and support
Develop strategies to engage Academy graduates (collegiate & YHSA)
Build and maintain relationships with coaches associations, national governing bodies, and other organizations key to serving women coaches
Assist with developing orientation events & resources to welcome new members
Expand and diversify WeCOACH Member Benefits to meet the needs of our growing community, including benefits secured from WeCOACH Partners/Sponsors/Donors (e.g., services, products, resources, consultants). Generate diverse content, resources, and programming to keep WeCOACH benefit offerings timely, relevant, and utilized on a continual basis
Define and manage a streamlined renewal process including timely follow-up and other personal touch points
Conduct member surveys and/or other feedback mechanisms for assessing our programs and resources and obtaining input from our members
Assist member community with day-to-day needs, including facilitating member benefits usage
Enhance efforts to identify aspiring coaches to actively build a diverse pipeline of future women coaches in all sports and levels
Manage WeCOACH awards & recognition programs
Co-manage the membership database and identify solutions for streamlining functionality and enhancing membership communications
Serve as a co-liaison to the Membership & Engagement Committee
Generate year-end membership engagement reports for group members
Oversee administration of membership surveys and implement feedback
Assist with membership-related research
Assist with planning and facilitating WeCOACH in-person programs, when needed
Assist on-site with select in-person events, including but not limited to the NCAA Women Coaches Academy, Regional Workshops, and networking receptions at sport association/ coaches conventions
Assist with virtual programs, when needed
Offer innovative ideas for new program offerings that delivers relevant content addressing issues impacting the coaching profession, advances their knowledge and career trajectories
Adhere to WeCOACH staff policies and procedures
Participate in and/or attend Board of Directors meetings, if requested
Serve as staff liaison to a Board Committee
Other duties as assigned
New revenue generation for organization (e.g., grant funding applications, securing new partners/sponsors/donors)
Assist with financial management tasks (membership invoicing, membership payments)
Assisting with implementation of partnerships & fundraising campaigns

Required

Seven or more years experience in customer service, sales, membership, fundraising, external relations, coaching, and/or non-profits
Excellent people and relationship skills, including the ability to work as a collaborative member of a small, but highly motivated team
Knowledge of membership and communications technologies (e.g., Zoom, NEON CRM, Constant Contact, Monday.com, etc.)
Established national network of colleagues within athletics/sport
Demonstrated success managing complex priorities in a remote or hybrid environment and adhere to deadlines
Advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to represent the organization positively to multiple internal and external constituents and sports community leadership
Strong computer/software skills to include Microsoft Office products, database management, report generation
Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, passion for the mission, and unwavering commitment to diversity & inclusion
Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail, high capacity to work within a fast-moving environment with competing priorities, while also being resourceful, efficient, and solutions-oriented
Proven strategic, innovative thinker who can develop and execute effective strategies and processes
Ability to travel to WeCOACH events or meetings as needed. Requires occasional weekends and evenings

Preferred

Preferred experience in, or substantial knowledge of, multiple levels of athletics (youth, high school, college, professional, etc.)
