Responsibilities

Champion SIF’s core values (Reliability, Innovation, Relationship Driven) by building and maintaining positive, collaborative relationships in all areas
Lead a team of Business Development Executives that identify and pursue new business opportunities in the workers’ compensation market
Facilitate business growth and retention of business by building strong professional working relationships with agency partners
Develop and maintain relationships with SIF’s leaders and collaborate with internal partners at all levels
Regularly and consistently demonstrate commitment to company values and guiding principles as well as an awareness and drive to accomplish SIF’s strategic and financial objectives
Develop and execute a business development strategy that aligns with SIF’s underwriting policy and financial objectives clearly communicating to agency partners SIF’s underwriting appetite, targets for new business and retention
Maintain a thorough understanding of our agency partner offerings and limitations
Be an expert in the Idaho workers’ compensation market and communicate trends and changes throughout the company

Required

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Minimum 4 years of experience in a Business Development role
Thorough understanding of SIF's strategic and financial objectives
Thorough understanding of the market and ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities
Strong customer orientation
High level of technical expertise; ability to exercise sound judgement
Ability to think strategically and plan over a 2 to 3-year time span
Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
Strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills at both a strategic and functional level
Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to consult, negotiate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization and external customers
