The Tooling / Shop Helper supports the daily operations of the tool yard and equipment shop by maintaining and servicing tools and small equipment, assisting with inventory control, and supporting fleet and field crews as needed.

Responsibilities

Maintain, track, and organize company tools and equipment
Perform basic service, maintenance, and minor repairs on:
Small engines (including 1-cylinder Honda gas engines)
Chain saws and other small power equipment
Hand tools and power tools
Assist with parts inventory tracking and tool checkout/check-in
Enter and update information using company systems, email, and tracking tools
Support material and tool readiness for construction crews
Operate forklifts and skid steers safely and efficiently
Occasionally drive company trucks to deliver or retrieve tools, equipment, or materials
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard environment
Adapt to changing priorities and workload demands
Other related duties and projects as assigned

Qualification

Valid CDLPower toolsSmall enginesForklift certificationBasic computer skillsMechanical aptitudeOrganizational skillsFast-paced environment

Required

Valid CDL
Experience or working knowledge of power tools and hand tools
Experience or working knowledge of small engines (chain saws, small gas engines)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under changing conditions
Basic computer skills, including email and data entry
Willingness and ability to learn company systems for parts and inventory tracking
Ability to safely operate forklifts and skid steers (or willingness to be trained)
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Mechanical aptitude or hands-on repair experience

Preferred

Prior experience in a construction shop, tool yard, or equipment yard
Forklift and/or skid steer certification
Familiarity with fleet or tool inventory systems
