Quality Engineer 1 (3rd Shift)

As a Quality Engineer 1, you will serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related issues in Launch operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards and driving continuous improvement initiatives in a high-performance aerospace environment.

Responsibilities
Process nonconformance documentation and perform evaluations to restore product conformity
Review Launch operations planning for accuracy and compliance to product and process specifications
Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions
Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned quality-related tasks
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) field from an accredited college or university
Ability to apply corrective action tools to identify root cause and corrective actions for anomaly conditions
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to easily interface with peers, leaders, and customers
Analytical ability to evaluate, interpret, and assimilate data into useable information and provide recommendations based upon results
Must be able to work around hazardous systems at the launch sites, climb stairs, and access elevated work platforms
The ability to work under pressure, solve problems, communicate effectively, work and lead in a team setting, and strong interpersonal skills are required
Participate in multi-discipline continuous improvement teams to improve methods and procedures
Highly proficient in computer usage and MS Office applications (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Highly flexible in work schedule (i.e. off-shift, weekends, travel), this will be determined on launch schedule
Willing to accommodate occasional TDY's at Vandenberg Space Force Base
Preferred
Material Review Board Experience
Background in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in the aerospace industry
Experience working in a nonconformance management system
Proficiency with SAP
Quality inspection experience
Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
