NC Workforce Credentials Fellow
The North Carolina Department of Commerce is the state's lead agency for economic, community and workforce development. The NC Workforce Credentials Fellow will support the implementation of strategies to improve the quality and accessibility of workforce credentials, collaborating with various stakeholders to align the credential application process with strategic goals.

Responsibilities
Coordinate with employers, industry associations, and education partners to revise the criteria used to determine which credentials are included on the list
Work to update and align the credential application process with the Advisory Council’s strategic goals
Develop a system for the Council to regularly review the credentials and manage the preparation and organization of all credential application materials and supporting documents and maintain the cloud-based storage system of these materials
Collaborate with LEAD to further integrate the approved credentials into NCcareers.org
Support the creation of 'one list' of approved credentials to be shared with the NC Community College System, the Department of Public Instruction, and the Department of Commerce
Develop outreach campaigns for trade associations, employers, and education and workforce partners to utilize the credentials list
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an appropriately accredited institution
five (5) years of progressive experience related to workforce development, economic development, education or similar program areas
equivalent combination of training and experience
Preferred
Understanding of workforce and economic development, and/or federal laws governing workforce development, and/or North Carolina state government
Public Policy and Administration Familiarity with policy development, implementation processes, and interagency collaboration
Education and Training Systems Knowledge of postsecondary education, Career & Technical Education (CTE), dual enrollment, and credentialing pathways
Labor Market and Economic Trends Ability to interpret labor market data, employer demand, and regional workforce needs
