Responsibilities

Performs complex operations such as measuring, electrical testing, repairing, reassembling and testing large DC armatures, AC stators and rotors, and repair/replace brush holders, etc

Progress updates/reporting to technical specialists, senior management, and/or cutomers

Performs related duties as assigned such as assisting on the larger or more complicated units

May dismantle and repair commutators and collector rings as well as to band rotating equipment

Able to lead work crews and direct tasks to others

Able to mobilize on short notice for field repairs

May be required to work overtime, various shifts, holidays and weekends

Must be able to drive/fly to job sites (>20% actual)

Able to paint repaired motors

Qualification

Required

High School Diploma or GED

10 years experience winding AC and/or DC motor components from 200HP to 10,000HP+

Possess/able to obtain a MSHA certificate and work at customer sites in compliance with stated requirements (IPS sponsored training as necessary)

Able to read and interpret winding connection drawings

Experience winding field coils

Able to drive/travel and complete overnight stays

Good mechanical skills

Able to pass a respirator fit test

Able to qualify with solder connections

Preferred

Hydro-electric experience highly desired
