Payroll & HRIS Specialist
San Diego FC is a new MLS club focused on building a brand that reflects the heart of San Diego. The Payroll and HRIS Specialist will support payroll, people technology, and business operations, ensuring smooth processing of payroll and effective onboarding training programs.
Responsibilities
Process semi-monthly payroll for 150+ exempt employees, includes, tracking commissions and bonus, as well as maintaining clear records and reconciliations for both
Process bi-weekly payroll for 250+ non-exempt employees, which includes timecard management, retro pay tracking, and any other ad hoc situations
Work with finance team and employee managers to manage overtime and meal penalties
Export payroll GL from HRIS and import reconcile into the ERP (such as NetSuite)
Maintain HRIS data and alignment of work force strategy with workforce plan
Prepare monthly reconciliations of PTO liability, reports, and adjustments on the books
Reconcile benefit accounts, such as health, dental, vision insurance, HSA/FSA, both employer expense and liability balances
Payroll tax compliance responsibilities (working with full-service payroll provider)
Report and pay monthly workers comp insurance and allocation of cost per employee, as well as assist with yearly Workers comp audit
Provide support with annual reporting, report writing, report exporting reports: reports include executive team metrics, MLS requested reports, EEO1 filing, ACA filing, ad hoc reporting
Continuously identify and implement areas within HR and Finance functions that can use process improvement or HRIS improvement. Create meaningful HR metrics reporting
Working with our internal technology team to support employee onboarding and offboarding
Create dashboards and meaningful metrics to measure employee related information
Track and help evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven adjustments to enhance outcomes
Track post-onboarding process and maintain compliance for training tracking
Support the updating of employee resource materials and policies as needed
Support coordination and execution of annual benefits fair
Support coordination of monthly and annual internal events
Other tasks as assigned
Qualification
Required
Minimum three years payroll processing experience - specifically experience in a dynamic organization with fast paced changes (currently with iSolved)
An understanding and appreciation for how teamwork and collaboration are core parts of sports culture
Essential business operations tools knowledge required. Slack, MS Office, Zoom, Teams, HRIS software
Strong understanding of HRIS systems
Preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required
Strong DEI background is preferred but not required
