Application Support Engineer – DevOps & AI Operations
Kavyos Consulting is seeking a Tier 2 Application Support Engineer with strong DevOps experience and an AI-enabled operational mindset. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of production systems while responding to incidents and proactively monitoring system health.
Responsibilities
Monitor production systems in real time and respond to SWAT or high-priority incidents
Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure, and configuration issues
Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate incident investigation, log analysis, and root cause identification
Clearly communicate incident status, impact, and resolution timelines to stakeholders
Resolve issues directly when possible or coordinate fixes with engineering teams
Participate in on-call rotations as needed
Proactively monitor system health, performance, and alerts to identify potential issues early
Leverage AI-driven insights from monitoring and observability tools to detect anomalies and trends
Identify recurring issues and implement preventative fixes
Improve alert quality to reduce noise and increase actionable signal
Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews
Partner closely with CloudOps engineers on DevOps initiatives
Assist with:
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) updates and maintenance
Application settings and configuration management
Spinning up, modifying, or tearing down cloud resources as needed
Support deployment activities and production releases
Help maintain consistency and reliability across environments (dev, staging, production)
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive support and operational tasks
Use AI-assisted tools to:
Generate or improve runbooks and documentation
Accelerate troubleshooting workflows
Improve operational consistency and response times
Contribute to scripts, tooling, or workflows that improve reliability and scalability
Maintain clear documentation for support procedures, common issues, and system behaviors
Use AI-assisted tooling to help keep documentation current and accurate
Communicate effectively with engineering, CloudOps, product, and support teams
Provide actionable feedback to engineering on system risks and improvement opportunities
Qualification
Required
5+ years of experience in application support, DevOps, SRE, or similar production facing roles
Hands-on experience supporting production, customer-facing systems
Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted tools to improve operational efficiency, troubleshooting, or documentation
Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments
Experience with DevOps concepts such as: Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM, Bicep, or similar), CI/CD pipelines, Application configuration and environment management
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools
Comfortable using AI-assisted tools to: Analyze logs and metrics, Accelerate incident investigation, Improve operational documentation and automation
Understanding of responsible AI usage in production and operational contexts
Comfortable working in high-pressure, real-time incident scenarios
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a remote-first environment
Preferred
Experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, or similar observability tools
Familiarity with serverless event-driven distributed systems
Experience with SRE or reliability engineering practices
Exposure to AI-powered observability or operational tooling
Azure or DevOps-related certifications
