Responsibilities

Designs and plans network communications systems

Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture

Conducts testing of network designs

Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options

Plans implementation of enhancement and upgrades to the network

Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations and limitations

Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateway etc

Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network

Cisco UC system componentsVMWare ESXiLAN/WAN operationsInformation security policiesTechnical expertise

Required

Experience operating Cisco UC system components including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM), Cisco Unified Border Element (UBE), Cisco ExpressWay or Tandberg Video Communications Server (VCS), Cisco Meeting Server (MS) or Acano Media Gateways Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning (PCP), Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco Jabber software client

Experience operating VMWare ESXi hypervisor servers

Preferred

Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business or a scientific or technical discipline

Knowledge of theory and practice underlying LAN/ WAN network operations

Knowledge of communications and information security policies and practices

Knowledge of multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways etc
