Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and integration of advanced avionics and aircraft systems from concept through production
Support conceptualization, refinement, and maturation of next-generation aircraft systems and structures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including aerodynamics, propulsion, avionics, materials, and manufacturing
Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and continuously improve cutting-edge aerospace products and services supporting the UJTS program
Develop and analyze complex aircraft systems, structures, and mission payloads, including highly integrated electronic systems
Perform system-level design, analysis, integration, and test activities across the full product lifecycle
Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring alignment with program objectives
Support baseline definition and maturation using trade studies and engineering evaluations
Establish and track Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs) to guide program execution
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and systems engineering best practices
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
Thorough understanding of requirements management and functional requirements derivation/allocation
Thorough understanding of systems design and systems integration
Thorough understanding of technical risk identification and mitigation strategies
Thorough understanding of Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Typically 10+ years of relevant experience in aerospace systems engineering or avionics-focused roles
Preferred
Advanced experience with requirements management and system modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, NoMagic, and MATLAB
Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical and systems design principles
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
INCOSE experience or certification
Background in the Aerospace and Defense industry
Experience leading baseline definition and maturation in complex development environments
Strong capability in establishing and tracking Technical Performance Measurements (TPMs)
