Responsibilities

Providing leadership, direction, and performance management for distribution activities to direct reports within the Atlanta or Minola/Tucker Operating Headquarters
Providing safety leadership, budget management, construction scheduling, and compliance measures
Contributing to reliability and capital improvement strategy in the Distribution Area
Supporting, developing, and training new talent for the Distribution Area
Supporting engineering co-ops and promoting strategic thinking about the overall workforce
Leading engineering on a large scale, high impact projects in the area
Participating in and leading Distribution Area wide initiatives, projects, and committees
Participating in the Supervisor on-call rotation
Leading local storm restoration efforts, as well as on system and off system storm events

Required

Engineering degree strongly preferred
Professional Engineering license a plus
MBA or Masters Degree is a plus
Excellent safety record and knowledge of Section “0”
Three or more years of Distribution Engineering experience in a power utility company is required
Must have proven Time Management experience involving multiple projects and customer requests
Experience in SERP restoration efforts required
The position requires an in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems as well as distribution requirements, practices and procedures
Ability to act as a technical specialist is required
Customer service focused with the ability to negotiate to match customer needs with company requirements
Broad understanding of the company's operations, policies, and procedures
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of TCMS, ARCOS, CSS, JETS, and strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products
Must be able to lead and develop a diverse workforce, maximizing team effectiveness, set high expectations of those around them and hold employees accountable for those expectations
Must have the ability to work through customer concerns and communicate resolution to all parties

Preferred

Storm team leadership experience preferred
Experience with engineering design, construction and maintenance, compliance, managing manpower, reviewing job estimates, and asset management in a power utility company
Experience with IBEW covered personnel, system design experience, and serving on committees at a statewide level is preferred
Previous experience designing and presenting large and complex projects in a power utility company to higher level management for approval is preferred
