Litigation Paralegal/Senior Paralegal
Fluet is a premier, boutique law firm in Tysons, VA that provides robust legal services to the national security, aerospace, defense, and intelligence sectors. They are seeking a Litigation Paralegal or Senior Paralegal with extensive case management experience to provide high-level support to attorneys in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities
Manage all phases of litigation, including document collection, discovery, trial preparation, and filings
Draft, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, and briefs for accuracy and compliance with court rules
Conduct legal research and verify authorities using Bluebook citation standards
Shepardize and validate case law, statutes, and regulations to ensure accuracy of legal citations
Prepare and maintain Tables of Contents and Tables of Authorities for complex filings
Assist with fact development, deposition preparation, and trial exhibit organization
Support attorneys during depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations, including on-site trial assistance when necessary
Coordinate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel regarding case scheduling and logistics
Manage case files, calendars, and deadlines using litigation management software
Mentor junior paralegals and legal administrative staff, and serve as a resource on litigation and trial matters to the lawyers and staff
Perform other duties as assigned to support attorneys and Firm operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate required
4+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting
Strong knowledge of court procedures and filing requirements at federal and state levels
Proficiency with legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis) and eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, Everlaw, GoldFynch, Reveal)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, and case management software (e.g., Clio, Filevine, NetDocuments, or similar)
