Cost Engineer

Responsibilities

Cost/Change Preparation: Work with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates for various projects and change orders, including materials, labor, and other expenses
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information necessary for change orders and other cost-related items
Change Order Management: Overseeing the change order process, from initiation to proposal to collection of payment
Document Control and Other Reporting: Maintaining a system for managing change orders, including tracking their status, history, and related documentation
Process Improvement: Developing and/or revising processes, procedures, and work instructions to improve efficiency, accuracy and reduction of costs

Financial Acumen: A strong understanding of financial principles and concepts
Self-Starter: Takes initiative, can work without supervision and begin projects independently
Bachelor's degree Business/finance/Accounting/Economics
