The Group Leader is responsible for teaching and nurturing elementary school students, providing a positive role model, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for hands-on learning activities.

Responsibilities
Understand, adhere, and enforce school program expectations, policies, and protocols as laid out by Program Director and Executive Director
Sets a positive tone with students
Assists the Activity Specialist with providing quality hands-on activities
Ensures the safety of students at all times
Anticipates and resolves conflict
Reports all incidents accurately and timely
Supervises mealtime
Assists with homework and maintaining the overall condition of the classroom
Collaborating with after school staff and teachers
Interacting positively with parents at dismissal
Required to participate in staff meetings and training
Other duties or special projects as assigned by the Program Director
Qualification
Required
Experience working with elementary school students
Ability to create a positive and nurturing environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents
Commitment to the mission of New Settlement
Flexibility to work afternoons, Monday through Friday, and during some school holidays
Willingness to participate in staff meetings and training
