Media Relations & Communications Specialist (PT)

LHH is partnering with a West Coast B2B technology client to recruit a Media Relations and Communications Specialist for a long-term, part-time contract. The role involves working closely with the Head of Corporate Communications to identify storytelling opportunities, manage media outreach, and support crisis communications efforts.

Responsibilities

Partner with the organization’s Head of Corporate Communications to review and understand historical media relations work and strategy with the goal of curating a strategic plan for 2026 storytelling
Conduct in-depth research across the organization, working with cross-functional teams, partners and divisions to identify brand stories
Curate relationships with media contacts and ensure placement for strategic brand stories, with the goal of driving awareness and audience engagement
Collaborate with cross-functional marketing, communications, PR and creative teams to align media relations work with departmental projects, ensuring media coverage for events and major company experiences
Review, assemble and present relevant department data in a compelling and visual manner
Support leadership in crisis-communications work, as needed
Aid the organization in analyst relations work, leveraging expertise to drive reciprocal relationships with relevant organizations

Required

5+ years of communications and PR experience
Excellent track record of media relations, storytelling and placement experience with B2B expertise
Experience with tools like PR Newswire, Muck Rack and Cision
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
Track record of media placement and strategic relationships with media contacts that drive coverage and brand opportunities
Proactive, curious approach to corporate storytelling with the tenacity to uncover news-worthy brand stories that drive awareness

Preferred

Experience with presenting communications data in a creative way using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
Technology experience in the B2B space
Experience in analyst relations (AR)
