Junior Commodity Manager

Responsibilities

Define and deploy the purchasing strategy
Implement a roadmap aligned with corporate and divisional objectives across business lines
Consolidate and analyze purchasing data
Monitor market segmentation and trends
Identify performance improvement drivers, including operational efficiency and cost savings
Negotiate general term agreements and execution agreements, ensuring appropriate flow-down of terms and conditions
Define the divisional supplier target panel based on operational performance and competitiveness
Manage sourcing for current and future business needs
Develop action plans to drive excellence in Lean Six Sigma, logistics flow, and layout design
Assess and mitigate commodity-related risks
Partner with the Legal department to align with Safran Electrical & Power’s General Term Agreement (GTA) and Execution Agreement (EA)
Negotiate long-term and global trade agreements in line with divisional expectations
Drive cost savings while ensuring clear liability and performance accountability
Optimize working capital through logistics solutions, safety stock strategies, and vendor-managed inventory (VMI)
Consolidate and report supplier performance for managed commodities
Support cross-purchasing initiatives within SEP and the Safran Group
Lead specific missions related to New Product Introduction, including CT Source A4 and 270 VDC Contactor programs

Required

A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing, or a related field
A minimum of 3 years' procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic responsibility for procurement is required and essential for this position
Good knowledge of purchasing KPI and tool (Spent, Performance Scorecard, Contract coverage, Master price list, ERP ( SAP…) …)
Good Project Management Skills
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultural and geographical borders, ensuring alignment and collaboration within teams
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to instill confidence in all stakeholder groups
Must be a proactive leader
Negotiation skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain successful supplier relationships
Strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with the ability to convey information effectively
Proficient in managing large Excel and Access databases with extensive data mining experience
A first experience in legal contract management and production-related commodity negotiations
Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and international business teams
