Mechanical Engineer - Data Center
PDS is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to prepare and develop detailed Revit models of Control Systems related to Mechanical building systems. The role involves developing construction documentation, participating in design coordination meetings, and providing support during construction phases.
Responsibilities
Preparing and developing detailed Revit models of Control Systems relating to Mechanical building systems
Developing & publishing construction documentation for Control Systems relating to Mechanical designs in a fast-paced environment to meet scheduled deliverables
Updating and modifying the new Controls models and construction documents as required after first of a kind (FOAK) creation
Assist with creating and maintaining standard regional BIM templates
Participate in design coordination meetings with other trades for clash detection and resolution
Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations
Assist the project team with information exchange processes between internal and external customers
Provide coordination support for information requests during construction phases
Recording and reporting of key metrics to management
Qualification
Required
5+ years of design/engineering experience of Controls or Mechanical building systems for mission critical facilities
4+ years' experience using Revit for producing engineering BIM models and construction drawings
Practical knowledge and understanding of Controls, Mechanical codes (IPC, or UPC) and safety regulations
This role is Controls focused to create a BIM controls model. The controls scope is closely related to the existing MECH BIM models but currently the controls content is just an overlay. This role would work directly with the AWS BIM team as the controls POC to create the FOAK controls BIM model
Preferred
3+ years of large-scale Data Center facility design experience
3+ years of Data Center or Mission Critical facility design experience
Proven success & experience collaborating with GCs to resolve complex issues during Construction Administration
