Montgomery County Government is seeking an experienced ERP Manager to lead the ERP Team within the Department of Technology and Enterprise Business Solutions. The role involves overseeing the ERP system's operations, managing staff and contractors, and guiding strategic planning for a next-generation ERP system while ensuring compliance and promoting collaboration for user adoption.

Responsibilities

Lead the vision, planning and implementation in collaboration with TEBS for ERP 2.0 and function as the Project Sponsor for the ERP 2.0
Develop and implement strategic plans and vision for ERP deployment that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
Oversee the configuration, customization, and integration of ERP modules to ensure that specific departmental needs are met. Manage and evaluate these processes for continuous improvement
Manage the ERP team by overseeing technical professionals and contractors to ensure effective service delivery. Track impact using project and program management technologies to report on program impact and efficiency
Promote a collaborative and customer-oriented culture by encouraging effective communication and enhancing customer satisfaction within the team
Lead a diverse team across multiple functional areas, demonstrating strong competencies in performance management, strategic planning, and staff development to ensure alignment with organizational goals. This role carries significant decision-making authority for ERP initiatives and may include budget oversight for projects and departmental operations
Monitor and manage the performance of ERP systems by identifying and resolving issues to maintain system reliability
Utilize Agile and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement, optimize ERP processes and increase efficiency
Apply performance management techniques to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of ERP systems
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring effective and efficient service delivery
Work with vendors and external partners to ensure the successful implementation and support of ERP modules
Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in ERP systems, AI, cloud technologies, Data and Security and relevant industry standards
Collaborating with technical and functional teams to design and develop OBIEE (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition) models, reports, and dashboards
Preparing and executing thorough test plans to validate system patches, modifications, and updates before deployment to production
Conducting research on ERP, Cloud, and AI technologies to provide strategic insights and recommend solutions that enhance business processes in a cost-effective and efficient manner

Required

Seven (7) years of progressively responsible professional experience in ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), three (3) years of which were in a supervisory or executive capacity
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
Strategic Planning & Vision Ability to develop and implement strategic plans that align with organizational goals, ensuring successful ERP deployment and integration, while shaping the future state of ERP systems
Leadership & Team Management Proven ability to lead diverse teams, motivate staff, and foster a collaborative work environment
Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills Expertise in identifying, analyzing, and resolving ERP-related issues to maintain system reliability and enhance performance
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring alignment with organizational needs
Project Management Proficiency in managing complex projects using recognized methodologies to track progress, allocate resources, and deliver results efficiently
Technical ERP Expertise In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, including configuration, customization, and integration processes tailored to departmental requirements
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement Experience applying performance management techniques and methodologies such as Agile and Lean Six Sigma to optimize workflows and drive innovation
Industry Awareness & Emerging Technologies Knowledge of ERP trends, AI, cloud technologies, data management, security, and industry standards to leverage innovations for organizational growth

Ensure ERP Security and Compliance Maintain system integrity and compliance with audit and regulatory standards. Oversee user management, implement security controls, and coordinate audits
Manage Complex ERP Upgrade Projects Plan and execute ERP upgrades to sustain performance and promote feature adoption. Develop transition strategies and provide post-go-live support across multiple business units
Oversee Data Migration and Reporting Ensure data accuracy and transparency during legacy data transitions. Manage reporting tasks to maintain organizational integrity
Configure and Customize ERP Modules Tailor ERP functionalities to meet organizational requirements using advanced tools to enhance system capabilities
Integrate ERP with Other Systems Ensure seamless connectivity between ERP and internal/external systems to minimize operational risks and improve efficiency
Apply Agile and Lean Methodologies Optimize processes for efficiency and accuracy, promoting continuous improvement and faster delivery cycles
