Responsibilities

Serve as a scientific contributor providing anatomic pathology expertise, disease pathogenesis insight, and tissue-based biomarker interpretation for discovery and translational programs
Contribute as a subject matter expert to discussions on target biology, model selection, in vitro/in vivo alignment, target liability, and translational relevance across multiple therapeutic programs
Perform histopathologic evaluation of tissues from discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies to assess target expression, pathology phenotypes, mechanism of action, and biomarker distribution
Apply and support the use of tissue-based platforms (ex. IHC, ISH, multiplex imaging, and digital image analysis) to enable qualitative and quantitative assessments
Integrate pathology findings with in vitro data and multi-omics outputs (e.g., transcriptomics, proteomics) to support mechanistic understanding and translational hypotheses
Prepare high-quality pathology summaries and written reports to support internal data review, program decisions, and study documentation
Participate as a pathology representative on cross-functional project teams and contribute to internal and external scientific discussions
Communicate pathology findings clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including discovery scientists, translational researchers, and clinicians
Contribute to scientific publications, abstracts, presentations, and internal knowledge-sharing efforts related to tissue-based translational research

Required

DVM/VMD, or equivalent
Board certification in veterinary pathology (ACVP/ECVP) required
Ph.D., PharmD, MD, or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. cancer biology, toxicology, molecular pathology)
Experience in IHC/ISH, multiplex imaging, digital pathology tools, and interpretation of tissue-based biomarkers
1-4 years' experience in discovery, translational research, or nonclinical sciences preferred
Solid foundation in tumor biology, cancer immunology, and molecular oncology
Experience designing, executing, interpreting, and reporting exploratory pathology studies
Familiarity with comparative biomarker assay development
Ability to assess translational relevance and target liability using integrated in vitro and in vivo data
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic research environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex pathology concepts clearly and concisely
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary internal and external teams

Preferred

1-4 years' experience in discovery, translational research, or nonclinical sciences preferred
