Qualis LLC is seeking an experienced Structural Analyst to provide insight in the development, test, and certification of liquid propulsion systems for NASA's engine development programs at the Marshall Space Flight Center. The role involves engaging with senior engineers, developing reports and presentations, and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Engage with senior engineers to provide insight on liquid engine structural elements and test fixtures, as well as producing independent analytical assessments

Develop and deliver reports and presentations, as well as collaborate with vendors and personnel from other NASA centers in the development of integrated flight hardware and associated ground test equipment

Assist with mentoring of junior engineers

Qualification

Finite Element AnalysisMechanical EngineeringAerospace EngineeringMicrosoft OfficeCommunication Skills

Required

BS from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics and a minimum of 15 years of experience

Familiarity with one or more major commercial finite element code such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN is required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word is required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

Preferred

MS degree from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics

Experience in the application of finite element methods, empirical closed-form structural analysis techniques, and the assessment of failure mechanisms is highly desired
