Environmental Services Summer Intern (12606402)
The South Carolina Department of Transportation is committed to a diverse workforce and is seeking multiple summer internship positions in Environmental Services. The role involves general exposure to various environmental programs and conducting fieldwork related to wetland delineations, species surveys, and archaeological investigations.

Responsibilities
General exposure to all environmental programs including NEPA, Permitting, Compliance, Public Involvement and Design Build
Fieldwork: works with staff conducting wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species act surveys, and archaeological investigations
Public Involvement: assists NEPA Coordinators in conducting public meetings, set up meetings, run sign in desk, etc
Prepares a USACE jurisdictional determination
Visits and assists staff in monitoring stream mitigation
Digitizes archaeological surveys using GIS for incorporation into the state’s Cultural Resource Information System (Archsite)
Qualification
Required
A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence
Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university program in Environmental Science, Biology or related field
