Electronic Technician I
Detroit Transportation Corporation is responsible for maintaining safe and reliable operations of the DPM. They are seeking an Electronic Technician I to handle installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of electric and electromechanical systems, ensuring efficient operation and safety standards.

Responsibilities
Adheres to established procedures and approved technical methods by DTC for installation, adjustment, calibration, testing, fabrication, and preventive maintenance
Conducts on-line troubleshooting and repairs for all systems
Repairs and maintains electronic and electromechanical subsystems for vehicles, track and guideway, and facilities
Implements response plans for unplanned or emergency events and participates in emergency teams, performing tasks such as DPM evacuation, assisting injured persons, extinguishing fires, and repairing structures, power distribution systems, SCADA, and ATC systems
Works independently or collaborates with other technicians to complete scheduled or unscheduled maintenance tasks in all electromechanical areas of the DPM
Performs detailed troubleshooting on electronic and electromechanical hardware systems
Interprets maintenance manuals, blueprints, schematics, and drawings; creates drawings or schematics to effectively communicate during maintenance tasks
Serves as a Quick Response Person (QRP), analyzing vehicle and guideway anomalies on-site as needed
Conducts all safety and functional tests for DPM vehicles and subsystems
Aligns with system service objectives and contributes as a team member to achieve these goals effectively
Tracks and accounts for materials used in maintenance efforts
Performs tests and prepares reports as required
Operates specialized motor equipment within the Maintenance Facility and on the guideway structure (e.g., recovery vehicle)
Drives motor vehicles (4-wheel drive/standard transmission) with a valid driver's license
Attends technical and safety in-service training programs as directed
Recommends hardware and procedural changes to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor when identified during maintenance activities
Responsible for incorporating safety into all aspects of job functions Performs all other assigned duties

Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Advanced vocational/technical training (minimum two-year technical school diploma) in electronic theory and principles
Minimum of two years' experience troubleshooting and maintaining electronic equipment and components
Proficient in the theory and operation of standard and advanced electronic test equipment, including memory oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, time-domain reflectometers, distortion analyzers, bonding meters, and digital/analog meters, as well as X-Y plotters
Skilled in reading and interpreting complex circuits and techniques
Experienced in the use of semiconductor devices such as transistors, silicon-controlled rectifiers, and linear/digital integrated circuits
Knowledgeable in microprocessor circuits and associated techniques
Familiar with materials, methods, and tools, including power hand tools and basic electronic component tools
Must pass a background check
Must pass complete physical examination and drug screen
Must have a driver's record compliant to ‘DTC Driving Policy'
Must maintain certification of DPM task requirements

Vocational/technical training in power electronics, propulsion & controls, SCADA, signaling and communication
