Responsibilities
Design and develop: Architect and implement robust backend systems supporting high-volume, low-latency integrations between Hertz and TNC partners
Full stack contributions: Building user-facing features using modern web and backend frameworks
Project lifecycle: Participate in all phases, from requirements analysis, design, and proof-of-concept, to development, testing, launch, and ongoing support
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and external partners to define requirements and deliver solutions that support business goals
Technical leadership: Share knowledge, mentor team members, and help shape our team’s engineering best practices
Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and architectural enhancements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience
2-4+ years hands-on software engineering experience
Strong development experience in at least one modern backend language, such as Java, C++, Python, or Go
Development experience with React JavaScript framework
Solid understanding of data modeling, SQL or NoSQL databases, and API design and development (REST, GraphQL, or gRPC)
Experience developing and deploying solutions on AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud environments
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and working in agile teams
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work cross-functionally and with external partners
Demonstrated history of adapting to new technologies and practices as the team and business evolve
Preferred
Development experience with React JavaScript framework is a plus
Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus
Experience with telematics, mobility, ride-sharing, or third-party platform integrations
