Eddy County, NM is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Finance Department. The role involves assisting with accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, budget, fixed assets, and grants management, along with creating financial reports and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

Provide support and assist with each job function in the Finance Department

Directly assist the Finance Director and Senior Assistant Finance Director by completing various daily operational tasks

Assist with accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, budget, fixed assets and grants management

Data entry into the financial system and Excel

Create spreadsheets, financial reports and budget documents

Serve as a back-up in the case where Finance Specialists, Procurement, Payroll Manager, Procurement Administrator and Grants Administrator are not available

Demonstrate intermediate computer and office skills

Attend job related meetings and work irregular hours as required

Perform other duties as assigned due to the nature of the position
